What is the best/cheapest way to get from Louis Armstrong airport to the Hilton on convention center blvd?

I am flying into New Orleans and staying at the Hilton. I would prefer not to rent a car unless it is necessary in order to get around the city. Is there a lot of public transportation not only from the airport but around the city?
