What is a re-seller permit?

I live in the UK and I'm going to buy wholesale products from the USA. To qualify for wholesale I need to register a business and provide proof of business and upload a scan of a re-sellers permit or corporate documentation. What exactly are these called in the UK? Will just registering a business be enough proof (assuming I show the correct documentation)?
