I am a Gay Liberal who served in the Army. What's up with all the Superpatriot Conservatives who never serve?

IDF for 5 years. Disliked some gay men in my platoon and reported them (just because I didn't like them, I'm actually all for gay rights). I myself am a center-right conservative and I hate when liberals say crap about me because they think I'm some sort of Israeli redneck.
